Brendan Pollard - Bringing European Style to the Florida Landscape

Brendan Pollard, founder of BPA Lighting, is a well known lighting designer whose highly acclaimed London-based work includes a wide range of ambitious outdoor lighting projects. His lighting talent was called upon to illuminate a variety of both residential and commercial properties. These included country estates, churches, office buildings, bridges, and general area and street lighting.

Whether it was a grand country estate or a historic cathedral, Pollard embraced the task with a creative enthusiasm fueled by his considerable knowledge of the art and science of lighting design. Pollard clarifies the types of clients he wants to serve, "Just because I come to this country with a wealth of experience doesn't mean that I only work with the wealthy. This requires me to understand that vision, to recognize the important features and lines, and to reveal that inherent beauty with the skillful application of light. This is a sensibility largely missing from landscape lighting installers in the States. Even though many Americans are of European descent, it seems much of this European sensibility has been lost; my intention is to work with my clients to apply this sensibility to the lighting of their homes and properties and to create settings that are both natural and stylistic."
